Three youths caught in Bolton after park vandalized with paint

Three 13-year-olds from Bolton were picked up by Caledon OPP Friday after vandalism was reported at a local park.

Police said they received a report at 9 a.m. that youths were spray painting equipment at Ernest Biason Memorial Park, at Pembrook and Landsbridge Streets. Officers found the kids and determined that

park sign, brick wall under a gazebo, several pieces of play equipment and a portable at a nearby school had been “tagged with inappropriate words” in black paint.

The parents, school officials and the Town of Caledon have been informed, and police said they are working on an appropriate way to deal with this.

They also stressed that vandalism costs everyone and needs to be reported to police. OPP officers and Citizens on Patrol volunteers make every effort to patrol the parks in order to keep them safe and stop this type of activity, but they can’t do it alone.
