Man charged over wrong plates on vehicle

A 37-year-old Caledon man is facing a number of charges after Caledon OPP stopped a vehicle in Bolton Feb. 13 regarding the licence plate.

The officers spotted a red pontiac which had plates they determined had been issued for another vehicle. They stopped the car, and the subsequent investigation revealed the driver had recently bought the vehicle and had neglected to obtain

proper permit, plates and insurance for it. Police added further investigation determined that the validation sticker had been stolen from another vehicle.

The man was charged with theft under $5,000, possession property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to apply for permit on becoming owner, permit use of validation not furnished for vehicle, using a plate not authorized for vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
