Thanks for supporting DARE
The sixth annual Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) golf tournament was another success this year, and I would like to thank our major sponsors, Fines Ford Lincoln Sales and Service, Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines, Dr. Marian Rizk and Mr. George Eaton, and our thanks goes to Garden Foods, The Naked Vine, Ledson Holdings, James Dick Construction Ltd., Mars Canada Inc., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Armstrong, Inman Holdings Limited, The Kostynyk Denture Centre, Bali International, Boston Pizza, Mr. Anthony Chung and to all of the other companies that donated gifts for our raffle and golfers.
And a special thank you to the Caledon Chamber of Commerce and the DARE committee for their continuing support of the DARE program. The money raised will help to continue the program in all of our Caledon schools. This is a major educational program that teaches our Grade 6 children how to make the right choices when confronted with drugs, alcohol and peer pressure and is taught by Ontario Provincial Police Officer Gord VanderGrinten. Thanks again Caledon, for helping to keep our kids safe and our community healthy.
Caledon, keep your eyes and ears open for a very important DARE visitor to our local schools in October. His name is Retro Bill and he will be speaking to our students regarding the DARE program he will be here in October. Keep tuned in. Thanks again.
