Doors were open to interesting places in Caledon
     The Hills of Headwaters tourism region once again be participated in the Province's Doors Open program Saturday, and several of the sites on the tour were in Caledon, including Top of the Hill Bed & Breakfast in Cheltenham. Plowing match will be in Caledon
      The Peel — Dufferin Plowmen's Association will be holding their 84th annual Plowing Match Sept. 3. It is being hosted by Bert, Trevor and Cristy Speirs at 14495 Gore Rd., and it promises to be an exciting day (rain or shine). Plowmen will be coming from all directions to decide who among them is the best.

Tilson announces recreational upgrade funding for Caledon
      Dufferin — Caledon MP David Tilson announced last week that the Town of Caledon will benefit from joint federal and provincial investment of $1,782,000, for the expansion of the Youth Centre at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness, under the Recreational Infrastructure Canada program in Ontario (RInC Ontario) and Recreation Ontario (Ontario REC).

Suspect charged with taking a poke at a police car
      A 21-year-old Brampton woman was charged by Caledon OPP Aug. 7 with failing to provide a breath sample. That was followed with a charge of mischief under $5,000 after police reported she deliberately damaged a police cruiser.

Orangeville youth killed in accident
      A 16-year-old Orangeville resident was killed Saturday afternoon after a mishap on Kennedy Road, south of Escarpment Sideroad. Caledon OPP and emergency services personnel were called out at about 1 p.m. The initial investigation indicates that a grey Ford was southbound when the driver lost control and collided with tree on the east side of the road.

Two Caledon residents killed in accident in Amaranth
      Two Caledon women were killed as a result of a twovehicle accident in Amaranth Township early Friday evening, and a young man was sent to hospital with serious injuries. Dufferin OPP report the incident occurred on County Road 11 at about 7 p.m.

Family dispute results in arrest
      A 46-year-old man from Caledon was charged with a number of offences Aug. 1 after Caledon OPP officers were sent to a home on Walton Drive in Cedar Mills to deal with a family dispute. They were informed that a family member had been brandishing a handgun in the presence of other members, and then had driven away.
