Fight between two boys in Bolton leads to charges

Traffic

Caledon OPP officers responded to 26 motor vehicle collisions during the seven days ending Monday.

In addition, six motorists were charged under Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act for excessive speeding.

Assault

A disagreement between two 15 year old boys led to a fist fight at a Bolton area park Sept. 22. One of the two has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

A 15 year old Caledon boy has been charged with assault after his involvement in a physical confrontation on Kingsview Drive in Bolton Sept. 23.

Drugs

A Sept. 23 Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check on Regional Road 50 near Zimmerman Drive resulted in charges for a 21- year-old man from Alliston. He will appear in court next month charged with possession of marijuana.

A traffic complaint received by police Sept. 25 led to a vehicle stop on Heart Lake Road near Mayfield Road in Caledon. The driver, a 42-year-old man from Mississauga, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving while under suspension.

Fraud

A van stopped for speeding on Highway 10 near Olde Base Line Road Sept. 24 resulted in several criminal charges for all three occupants of the vehicle. A police investigation found the van contained a variety of items that were apparently fraudulently purchased with forged credit cards. Several electronic items were seized, such as a camera, video game console, computer, TV, IPOD as well as miscellaneous clothing and store purchased gift cards.

The driver, a 41-year-old man from Etobicoke has been charged with nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, eight counts of possession of fraudulent credit cards and speeding.

One of the passengers, a 51-year-old man from North York, has been charged with nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, eight counts of possession of fraudulent credit cards, four counts of failing to comply with recognizance and not wearing a seat belt.

The other passenger, a 28-year-old woman from Mississauga has been charged with nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and eight counts of possession of fraudulent credit cards.

Impaired driving

A vehicle stop on McLaughlin Road. north of The Grange Side Road, Sept. 26 led to charges for the driver. The 41-year-old man from Halton was charged with possession schedule I - cocaine, impaired driving, failing to wear a seat belt, driving without a permit and driving an unsafe vehicle.

A report of an erratic driver resulted in a vehicle stop on Regional Road 50 near Bolton Heights Drive in Bolton Sept. 26. A 41-yearold man from Alliston was charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood and dangerous driving. Three young children were in the vehicle at the time of the driver's arrest.

A 39-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood following a Sept. 28 vehicle stop on Olde Base Line Road near Highway 10.

Mischief

A vehicle parked on Highbury Street was reported entered during the night Sept. 24. Nothing has been reported stolen from the vehicle.

The rear window of a vehicle parked at a Royal Terrace Crescent home in Bolton was reported smashed Sept. 28 during the night.

It was reported Sept. 28 that a vehicle parked at a Forks of the Credit address was vandalized during the night. The exterior paint was scratched with a sharp object.

Stolen and recovered

A motorcycle was reported stolen Sept. 26 from the end of a driveway on Forks of the Credit Road sometime over the night.

A truck that had been reported stolen from Toronto was located abandoned in a truck yard on Mayfield Road near Humber Station Road in Caledon Sept. 26.

A vehicle was reported stolen Sept. 28 from the driveway of an Ellwood Drive West residence sometime overnight. Caledon OPP recovered the vehicle abandoned on Waterbury Street in Bolton Sept. 29.

Theft

It was reported Sept. 22 that some time over the weekend, a dirt bike and a pressure washer was taken from an open car port of a Mount Hope Road residence.

It's estimated that a couple of thousand dollars worth of scrap metal was reported stolen Sept. 23 from the yard of a commercial property on Browning Court in Bolton.

A 19-year-old man from Caledon was charged with theft under $5,000 following a Sept. 26 shop-lifting incident at a retail store on McEwan Drive in Bolton.

A homeowner on Agnes Street in Alton reported that gasoline was siphoned from two vehicles in the driveway sometime during the night of Sept. 25.
