Inglewood Farmers' Market still operating far into October

The Inglewood Farmers' Market is still in operation, and will keep running until the end of the month.

It will be open every Wednesday evening, from 4 p.m. until dark until Oct. 29. In addition, there will a special market day this Sunday (Oct. 5) from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Over the next month, the market will offer pumpkins and other squashes, apples, tomatoes, garlic, herbs, vegetables, perennials, homemade preserves, fudge, soups, honey, organic breads, lamb, elk, beef, pork, wild boar and much more.

With a wide variety of foods, the market is a great place to stock up for a winter of eating locally.

Other special events taking place at the market in October include The Caledon Country Boys, who will be playing for the last time this season this coming Wednesday (Oct. 8), providing their footstompin', hand-clappin' music. Come and enjoy the music and grab an Oktoberfest sausage off the barbecue while you do your shopping for Thanksgiving weekend.

There will be a Halloween event Oct. 29, to coincide with the season wrap-up.

There will be some hauntingly fun activities. Complimentary local apple cider will be available courtesy of the Inglewood General Store.

The Inglewood Farmers' Market is at the Inglewood General Store, 15596 McLaughlin Rd. For more information about the market, visit www.eatlocalcaledon.org or call the Caledon Countryside Alliance at (905) 584-6221.
