The first meeting of the 2008/09 season of the newly named group Non-Profit Community Connections, took place at the Albion- Bolton Branch of Caledon Public Library in September.

As it has for the last four years, this energetic group of men and women meet the third Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m. to learn more about each other and their respective organizations, share ideas and to help strategize and publicize for the sole purpose of assisting the people of their community.

At the meeting, Past- Chair Patti Foley of CharityVillage.com, a cosponsor of the group, officially passed the reins of command to new Co-chairs Tahverlee Mills, executive director of Epilepsy Peel Region, and Mary Maw, manager of communications and programming for Caledon Public Library.

Under their guidance, the members are looking forward to another informative and productive year.

Membership is only $25 for one year, and additional members from the same company/group can join for only $10 per year.

The new name of this group says it all.

All members are from the not-for-profit sector and they gather regularly to connect with each other and to help the community.

Through stimulating conversation, guest speakers and educational opportunities, they collaborate, examine challenges and provide tips to promote individual, group and community success.

Drop by the next meeting Oct. 15.

You will be warmly welcomed and you will see firsthand how this diverse and focused group works together to benefit all.

Come see.
