Members art show compliment each other Downtown Brampton will be buzzing with the activity of the Farmer's Market and an amazing art show at Beaux- Arts Brampton, exhibiting members' work from the last year. This year marks Beaux- Arts Brampton's sixth anniversary. The members are excited that the gallery, workshop and studios continue to be an important presence in the core of Brampton. The show opened July 1 and runs through to July 19. This year, each artist member can submit two pieces of larger sized works, plus up to two miniature pieces, which would be priced below $100. This will provide an exciting show for the public to see and to possibly purchase some pieces for their homes or offices. As always, each artist is guaranteed to hang at least one of their pieces in the show. This annual show offers for several prizes for the artists: The People's Choice Award, sponsored by Simon MacDonald, with other major prizes sponsored by the Barn Owl Framing and Past-president Steve Wilson. In addition, there will be a door prize at the opening reception, open to all in attendance. A glass sculpture has been donated by BAB's accountant, Fred Watkin for this door prize. Beaux-Arts member John Cutruzzola is the judge for the awards and is to present them at the opening Meet the Artists Reception tonight (Thursday) between 5 and 9 p.m. Beaux-Arts Gallery is located at 70 Main St. North in downtown Brampton. |
