ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Kyle Davis

Davis, 18, helped the varsity boys' field lacrosse team win a silver medal at OFSAA in Peterborough, which was June 4 and 5. The graduating Grade 12 student had 19 points (11 goals and eight assists) during his five OFSAA games. He was also instrumental in the senior boys' hockey team's fourth-place finish at OFSAA at Ottawa in April. Last season he played hockey for the AA Caledon Hawks, but next season he hopes to play Junior A hockey somewhere. He also plays Junior B lacrosse with the Halton-Hills Bulldogs. He lives with his parents, Glen and Debbie Davis, in Caledon.

Harry Gaebler

Gaebler, 15, advanced to OFSAA in the midget boys' discus after winning silver at the South Regional Championships in Hamilton (May 29) with a throw of 38.67 metres. He also won gold medal at ROPSSAA at Centennial Park in Etobicoke (May 6 and 7) with a throw of 35.83 metres. The Grade 9 student also plays AA hockey for the Caledon Hawks. He lives in Bolton with his parents Harry and Cathy Gaebler.

Kristine Savio

Savio, 18, recently won the MVP award for senior girls' volleyball at Hall's athletic awards banquet on June 5. The graduating Grade 12 student was a power and the captain of the volleyball team, as well as a shooting guard for the senior girls' basketball team. She used to play rep basketball in the community. The Caledon resident lives with her parents John and Lina.
