CWL had a great spa day

May 31, the Catholic Women's League of Holy Family Church invited the women of the parish to a Ladies' Luncheon and Spa Day.

The event was held to raise funds to replace our outdated and much used parish kitchen appliances.

The theme of the day was "relax and pamper yourself," which the ladies did. They began the day with corsages and were treated to a gourmet lunch of fruit salad, punch, quiche and spring mixed salad, followed by decadent desserts.

They enjoyed new hair styles and nail treatments from the creative talents of nine cosmetology students from Robert F. Hall Secondary School, who did a great job of making our ladies feel and look special. Each lady had wonderful compliments for the girls regarding their professional skills and attitudes. The ladies looked fabulous!

Bianca Infante, a trained reflexologist from Bolton Family Foot Care, and Shona Lauzon, a Reiji master, further pampered our guests with relaxing massages. During the makeovers, the ladies enjoyed reruns of their favourite I Love Lucy TV shows, and spent time making and reconnecting with friends.

At the end of the day, each lady took home a goody bag stuffed with spa products, and restaurant and service coupons. All in all, a wonderful day was had by everyone. We will be holding this event again!

Very special thank yous to Mrs. Anania from R.F. Hall, who responded so enthusiastically and who encouraged her students to participate in our special event; the amazing students from the cosmetology program: Alexandra, Brittany, Carla, Cosmina, Michelle, Monica, Paulina, Sabrina and Sandra for your excitement and talents; and Nick and Tim from the hospitality program who slaved in the kitchen preparing and serving 50 happy and very satisfied guests.
