Peel students took part in Drama Showcase

Drama students in Grades 6 to 8 performed at the Peel District School Board's second annual Peel Intermediate Drama Showcase May 28 at Port Credit Secondary School in Mississauga.

Performances from the nine schools taking part, including Allan Drive Middle School in Bolton, included a variety of work from musicals, Shakespeare, scenes from plays, and student-written scripts. The event was co-ordinated jointly by the Peel District School Board and Peel's Intermediate Drama Association.

"This annual event celebrates the written word through the performing arts," commented Mary Ann Fratia, instructional co-ordinator for the arts and health and physical education at the board. "It allows students to express themselves in all forms of literacy."
