ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Mayfield

Zander Jacobs

Jacobs, 18, was a striker for the senior boys' soccer team, who finished first in the ROPSSAA North East Tier 2 division with a 3-2-1 record, but lost in their quarter-final matchup against Erindale, 2-1, last Thursday. The Grade 12 student played basketball with the Mavericks this athletic season. The Caledon resident also plays for two men's soccer league teams in the community, which are with Brampton Adult Soccer and a men's Christian Club League.

Humberview

Melissa Wright

Wright, 17, was the third baseman on the varsity girls' slo-pitch team, who finished with a 1-3 record on the season. The Grade 12 student also plays rep girls' softball for the Brampton Blazers. She lives in Brampton with her parents David and Jennifer Wright.

Robert F. Hall

Adrian Sikorski

Sikorski, 17, is the centremidfielder for the undefeated senior boys' soccer team, who are 5-0- 1, after they beat St. Paul's, 1-0, in the ROPSSAA quarter-finals. The Grade 12 student scored the goal in that victory and has two goals on the season overall. He has also played tennis and badminton at Hall. Sikorski also plays soccer with the Oakville Blue Stars of the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OYSL). He lives in Inglewood with his parents Andrew and Crocetta Sikorski.
