The buzz in Bolton picked up over the weekend as Town officials and Armour Heights Development's formally broke ground on River's Edge, Bolton's first and only luxury adult lifestyle condominium.
The ceremony to commence construction was held Saturday, with nearly 100 people in attendance, including Mayor Marolyn Morrison and several members of Caledon council, along with many current (and potential) purchasers in the development. Local trades were represented by Rafat General Contracting, Panson Electrical Service, Bolton Railings, James Dick Concrete and many more. In fact, James Dick himself drove in a truck with brand new cement for the building.
The ceremony marked the beginning of construction on the new 72- suite, $29 million condominium project at 29 Ann Street. Now that the permits are in place, purchasers are anxiously awaiting the completion of the project.
"We're pleased to welcome River's Edge to our community," said Morrison. "The rapid sales at this development only prove what we expected when the application was filed, that the market was seeking this type of development."
Morrison applauded Armour Heights Developments President Frank Mazzotta for supporting the local economy by hiring local trades for the construction.
"We have a strong trades community here," she observed. "It's not often that they are given the opportunity to show off their work in their own back yard, so to speak. It gives our community a sense of pride to see their friends put such a project together."
The developer has enjoyed brisk sales since opening the sales office last fall. More than 70 per cent of the units have already sold; clearly indicating this is an area of real estate missing in the Bolton community.
