Palgrave Rotary sets June 6 for Wines of the World event

The Rotary Club of Palgrave will be hosting its 11th annual Wines of the World fund-raising event June 6 at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave.

"We have a challenge to top the success of last year's wine tasting," said Bernie Rochon, chair of the charitable event, "but we are confident that our guests at the 2008 event will find an equally enjoyable evening with a selection of more than 75 outstanding wines available for sampling."

Steve Thurlow, senior editor of Wine Access magazine and eminent oenologist, will again lend his expertise in the selection of wines to be showcased, with the able assist this year of noted vintners' consultant Hugh Sutherland.

Ticket prices remain the same as last year, $35 per person, available in advance from Migrations Travel (Palgrave), Forster's Book Garden (Bolton) Palgrave Cafe and Coffee Shoppe, The Naked Vine (Bolton, call (905) 951-7253), directly from Palgrave Rotary by calling (905) 880- 1590, or from members of Palgrave Rotary. Tickets will not be available at the gate.

"Last year's Wines of the World was an early sell out, so those wishing to attend should book their tickets now," said Rochon.

The 2008 presentation of Wines of the World promises to be a memorable evening of camaraderie, fine wines, good food and the knowledge that proceeds from the event are going to support Rotary service projects in the community and internationally."
