Several alcohol related charges laid this week

Traffic

Caledon OPP officers responded to 26 motor vehicle collisions during this seven day period ending Monday.

There were also seven men charged under Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act for excessive speeding.

Alcohol

and driving

A traffic complaint led to charges against the driver of a vehicle observed travelling southbound on Regional Road 50 north of Bolton April 30. The 46-year-old man from Caledon has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood and drive with an open container of liquor.

A traffic stop on Regional Road 50 near Highway 9 May 1 for Highway Traffic Act enforcement resulted in a charged for the driver. The 67-year-old man from Woodbridge has been charged with impaired driving, riving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

A traffic stop for enforcement purposes on Highway 9 near Regional Road 50 May 2, resulted in a criminal charge. A 43-year-old woman from Alliston was charged with riving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood.

A 33-year-old man from Mississauga was charged May 3 following a traffic enforcement stop on Regional Road 50 near Mayfield Road. He will appear in court on 12 June 2008, charged with riving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood.

A vehicle stop on Old Church Road near Regional Road 50 May 3 led to the arrest of the driver. The 51- year-old man from Beeton has been charged with riving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood.

Break

and enter

A home under construction on Flaherty Lane in Caledon was entered during the night of May 2. Several appliances were stolen as well as sinks, faucets, a computer and phone.

Drugs

A May 3 vehicle stop on Boston Mills Road near Airport Road led to a drug related charge for the driver. The 23-year-old Baltimore, Ontario resident has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Stolen and recovered vehicles

An ATV was reported stolen April 28 from the backyard of a Grapevine Road residence in Bolton.

A vehicle that had been reported stolen to Durham Regional Police was located abandoned at a King Street business in Bolton May 1.

A commercial cargo van was stolen from a Bolton area business on Healey Road during the evening of May 1.

A work truck was stolen from the driveway of a Pearl Street residence in Bolton May 4. The theft occurred sometime between 2 and 9 a.m.

Theft

A utility trailer loaded with topsoil was reported stolen from a King Street property April 28.
