Armour Heights likes the way Town has treated them
By Bill Rea

Some developers charge the Town of Caledon is making Bolton a difficult place to operate.

But that feeling is not unanimous.

Frank Mazzada, builder and owner of Armour Heights Developments, is having trouble figuring out what all the fuss is about.

"I've got nothing but good things to say about the mayor, the Town of Caledon and the council," he told the Citizen. "The Town of Caledon has greeted us with open arms."

Armour Heights is developing River's Edge in the village core, which is includes a commercial component (with a branch of TD Canada Trust), plus 72 condominium units.

"We're well over the 60 per cent mark in sales," he remarked. "We've started construction and we're on our way."

Any complications, Mazzada said, has been with the dealings with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), but he said the Town "has bent over backwards for us" in helping them to deal with TRCA, along with other agencies.

Mazzada said he's been reading negative accounts about the Town, but he hasn't seen justification for that.

"They've helped us in every which way possible," he declared, "from the mayor on down."

Mazzada said he's been a developer since 1986, which projects in Mississauga, Vaughan, Toronto, Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Guelph and Milton to his credit. "I find the Town of Caledon extremely pro-development in making things happen," he remarked.

"The way that we've been treated has been exceptional," he added.
