Big crowd out for CCC sale Saturday

The Coalition of Concerned Citizens (CCC) held their 11th annual Great Big Garage Sale Saturday at Someday Farm on Winston Churchill Boulevard, and they had no shortage of customers out seeking bargains. Roughly 2,700 people passed through the arena. CCC President Penny Richardson had plenty of information about the organization's efforts for people at the sale.
There were also lottery tickets available, with the first prize being $500. John Pitfield sold one to Sarah Chambers of Erin. Photos by Bill Rea
Jen Schill of Alton watched as her son Evan Scott, 2, browsed through the great selection of toys.
It's less than eight months until Christmas, and sisters Jill Murray and Janet Brockway didn't think it was too early to start thinking about the season. They were working at a table filled with holiday decorations.
There was a good selection of scooters available too, and Sydney Muir, 11, and her sister Danika, 9, from Georgetown were checking them out.
People came from all over for the big sale. Kate Pitfield, 7, came from Toronto, and went home with these skis.
