Few comments on new lawsuit

None of the parties are talking much about a reported $20 million lawsuit that has been launched involving Mayor Marolyn Morrison.

The Toronto Star reported last week the suit was launched by Terry Groves, husband of Town Councillor Annette Groves, in the latest development in a dispute that started during the 2006 election campaign, when Mr. Groves asked the mayor a question at an all-candidates' meeting regarding her vote to direct development to the Mayfield West area, suggesting she had a conflict of interests because her campaign manager, Ann Livingston, stood to benefit financially.

The Star reported Livingston launched a $250,000 suit against Mr. Groves, alleging she was defamed, and the story added Mr. Groves' coutersuit alleges harassment and damage to reputation.
