Thanks for supporting daffodil campaign

The wonderful communities of Bolton, Palgrave and Caledon East once again showed their support for the Canadian Cancer Society, March 28 to March 30, by purchasing daffodils and helping in the fight against cancer.

Daffodil Weekend is the kick-off to Cancer Awareness Month. With approximately 60 amazing volunteers, as well as the enthusiastic Guides, Pathfinders and Scouts from Caledon East and, of course, all of the wonderful people who purchased these beautiful flowers, including all who supported the daffodil pre-sales, we contributed more than $14,000 to fund research on all types of cancer. The total revenue from the entire unit was more than $90,000.

Thank you to the Bolton LCBO for storing the flowers and for letting us sell there. We would also like to thank The Canadian Tire Store, Zehrs, Garden Foods, Wal-Mart, Palgrave Post Office, Caledon East IGA and the Caledon East LCBO for allowing us to sell at their locations.

Thank you to the Angry Tomato, Kelsey's, Swiss Chalet and Mercato Fine Foods, the Caledon Enterprise and the Caledon Citizen for helping us to promote the Daffodil Campaign. I know many businesses, schools, etc. in these communities also purchased flowers and made donations, which is so greatly appreciated.

Any business or school who would like to know more about the pre-sale campaign should call the Daffodil Hotline at 1-866- 711-0111, ext. 46. They are also in need of door-to-door canvassers this month. If you can help, please call the above number, but ext. 28.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making a difference in the fight against cancer and for your contribution to cancer research.
