Kings College hosts dinner to support African school

Njacko Backo and his wife Val Woloshyn headed up the entertainment at Saturday's Tastes of Africa dinner at Kings College School.
About eight years ago, a group of senior students at Kings College School collected used books to send to a learning centre and library in Cameroon.

Now that facility has grown into a high school, called Eta College, in Kumba, Cameroon, with a mission to educate african leaders to solve African problems, and Kings College is still supporting it.

"It just grew from there," said Principal Barbara Lord.

The school, located on The Gore Road in Caledon hosted a Tastes of Africa dinner Saturday night, complete with food and entertainment of the continent, with students serving the guests, including Mayor Marolyn Morrison.

The entertainment was led by Njacko Backo and his wife Val Woloshyn on the drums and kalimba.
