Youth Summer Job Sign-Up at Jobs Caledon next week The snow has just melted and it's already time for students to look for summer jobs. Come out to Jobs Caledon in Bolton this coming Wednesday (April 16), from 3 to 7 p.m., for the Youth Summer Job Sign-up. Jobs Caledon is partnering with the Job Connect program of the John Howard Society to help match students with employers in Caledon and Brampton. All youth, aged 15 to 24, or up to 29 if disabled, are welcome to speak with the Job Connect staff any time during the sign-up at the Jobs Caledon Bolton office. Interested youth will be able to talk to staff about the type of work they are seeking, look at job postings and decide where they would like their resumes sent and walk away with a packet of information regarding the Job Connect Summer Job Service, facts on Health and Safety and a list of student job searching Web sites. "Starting the Youth summer job search process in spring will definitely be an added value in servicing our community," stated Mary Falcone, Jobs Caledon employment specialist. "Youth will have more options in choosing available job opportunities of their preference and may be able to obtain an earlier employment start date, instead of waiting until the beginning of summer to start their actual job search." Mark your calendar, and be sure to bring a resume that can be sent immediately to employers. If you have any questions regarding the Youth Summer Job sign-up, phone Jobs Caledon at (905) 951-2300 or (905) 584-9460, ext. 232. Visit Jobs Caledon, Caledon Community Services any weekday at 18 King St. East, Upper Level of the Royal Courtyards in Bolton. Services are also available in Caledon East and Inglewood on select days. Phone with any questions about available services, or visit www.caledoncommunityservices. org and click under 'Work' for a monthly calendar. |
