Caledon's strategic initiatives encourage growth and prosperity Strengthening the vitality, growth and prosperity of Caledon is a strategic imperative for the Town of Caledon's council and staff. Within the investment community, Caledon is increasingly considered to be a highly preferred location for new development opportunities within the GTA. With heightened activity and interest from developers, site selectors, realtors and endusers, the Town is focused on successfully managing these development opportunities to capitalize on this growth potential. As a result, the Town is consolidating several key initiatives currently underway by individual departments that focus on both new development and redevelopment to encourage economic growth throughout Caledon. Mark Sraga has been seconded to be the municipality's Director of Strategic Initiatives. In this newly created position, Sraga will lead the Community Improvement Program already underway along with other community development initiatives, including supporting the commercial/industrial sector in broadening land use designations, and initiate a corporate economic strategy for the Town. During the secondment period, Mary Schofield will be the Acting Director of Building and Bylaw Enforcement and Chief Building Official. "With an integrated team approach, Mark will lead key strategic initiatives that are important to the economic prosperity of our community," commented Mayor Marolyn Morrison. "This staff appointment will help the Town of Caledon maximize resources and realize success while staying on-track with the delivery of essential programs and services." |
