Motorcyclist dies on Innis Lake Road

A 25-year-old man from Richmond Hill is dead after he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving on Innis Lake Road Tuesday evening.

Caledon OPP reports Ali Asghar Anward was heading north on a 2007 Yamaha, south of Old Church Road just before 6 p.m. He apparently lost control and left the road. He was thrown from the bike, which came to rest in the east ditch.

Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Innis Lake Road was closed between Castlederg Side Road and Old Church Road for several hours while the onscene investigation was conducted.

Caledon OPP officers and OPP Technical Collision Investigators are continuing their investigation. Any witnesses are asked to contact Constable Jason Brown at (905) 584-2241.
