Creative writing workshop for women in May in Alton

Have you been thinking about and fantasizing about writing for some time now? Do you have some intense memories or dream images you'd like to get on paper? Do you have story or character ideas that you'd love to see in print, but don't feel you have the necessary tools to write them yourself? Do you feel a little embarrassed for wanting to write because you have never thought of yourself as a writer? Are you afraid your writing, when it finally happens, won't be very good? Are you sure you don't have the right vocabulary, background, training, creativity or artistic talent to be a writer?

Quell all your fears, take a deep breath and come to the Alton Branch of Caledon Public Library, where a oneday creative writing workshop just for women takes place in May.

This is the chance you've been waiting for! Someone will help you quiet down your negative judgements and your excuses, focus your thinking, learn how to contact your authentic, vital self and actually get started. You will learn that your fears are unfounded; that there is no special training to becoming a writer; and that the reason most people don't write is because, like you, they've never taken the first step. At this workshop, you can clear the clutter and put pen to paper.

Join Dr. Win Mellor-Hay May 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and start writing, right now. Women are asked to wear comfortable clothing and bring a brown bag lunch. All other supplies, as well as refreshments, will be provided throughout the course.

The cost for the program is $49 per person.

Advance registration is required. Cheques or cash will be accepted. Call (905) 857-1400 or visit caledon.library.on.ca for more information.

This workshop is very popular and spaces are limited, so register early to avoid disappointment.
