Free tree-planting workshop in Caledon East

Learn how to properly plant trees, from preparing the ground for planting, to the follow-up required getting your trees free-to-grow.

This tree-planting workshop will be March 29, between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m., and will be for people wishing to learn the best way to plant trees.

This half-day session, planned and hosted by Halton-Peel Woodlands and Wildlife Stewardship (HPWWS), Town of Caledon, Credit Valley Conservation, Toronto and Region Conservation, and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) will be held at the Caledon Community Complex, at 6215 Old Church Rd., in Caledon East.

Hear from foresters who will explain the site requirements of various trees, how to care for the trees before they are planted and what post-planting attention is needed to keep your trees healthy.

This workshop received funding support from the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation and will have representatives from the other Western Headwaters Project Area partners in attendance with their project information and displays.

There is no cost to attend but people are asked to preregister to ensure attendance. Refreshments will be available to participants.
