School buses were damaged on Highway 10

Caledon OPP responded to 27 traffic accidents over the week ending Monday.

Alcohol and driving

Caledon OPP officers were called to a business at Charleston Side Road and Highway 10 March 12, and they found a man in his parked vehicle. He had been drinking and the 61-year-old Caledon resident was charged with having impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and having care and control with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol for 100 mls. of blood.

A traffic complaint led to a vehicle stop on Regional Road 50 near Hopcroft Road March 13. The driver, a 30- year-old man from orillia, was charged with impaired driving, driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol for 100 mls. of blood, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).

Officers investigating a March 13 collision involving a single vehicle into a hydro pole on Mount Wolfe Road have charged the driver, a 40-year-old man from Beeton with impaired driving and driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol for 100 mls. of blood.

A March 14 traffic stop on Mount Wolfe Road resulted in a criminal charge for the driver. The 44-yearold woman from Gilford has been charged with driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

Break and enter

A home on heart Lake Road was reported entered sometime during the day March 13. Police said a quantity of cash was reported stolen.

An unlocked garage of a Beech Grove Side Road residence was entered during the night of March 14. The homeowner has reported that several power tools were stolen.

The owner of a home on Main Street in Alton reported March 15 that a large quantity of tools had been stolen from the garage. Police said the theft happened sometime over the last month, while the owner was away.

Mischief

Two school buses were damaged while parked in a Highway 10 school parking lot during the night of March 13. Several windows of the buses had been smashed.

Several unlocked vehicles parked at homes on Knollridge Street, McCabe Crescent and Castelli Court in Bolton were entered during the night of March 15. Sunglasses, a GPS, jewelry, a gym bag and loose change were among some of the articles stolen from the vehicles.

Stolen - recovered vehicles

During the night of March 12, a white pick up truck was stolen from the driveway of a Cedargrove Road home in Bolton. The truck owner reports that the truck was locked and alarm activated when it was stolen.

Other criminal charges

A Caledon OPP officer responded to a report of a car in a ditch on Caledon - King Town Line, south of Castlederg Side Road March 13. The driver, a 59-year-old man from Caledon, has been charged with driving while disqualified.
