Learn Mandarin at the library

Caledon Public Library is offering conversational Mandarin language classes for absolute beginners.

Perhaps the Year of the Rat will see people traveling to China for work, study or as tourists during the upcoming Olympics.

Perhaps you've just always wanted to learn this exciting and timeless language. Whatever the case, this six-week course will be an ideal introduction to the language spoken by more than 885 million people.

The two-hour classes will take place at the Albion Bolton Branch of Caledon Public Library every Thursday from April 3 until May 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $99, which includes all materials, such as practice software and flashcards that are provided to support the learning process. Because of the value of repetition and reinforcement, students may repeat this course once without charge (at another location) and as many additional times as are useful for 50 per cent of the current rate.

For more information about the course, visit www.thechinapath.com or the library Web site at www.caledon.library.on.ca

The road to learning anything is highly individual and throughout this course, students are able to discover their own comfort level and set their own pace. Regardless of your learning style, be it slow and steady or fast and furious, this course will set you on the China Path of mastering the Mandarin language. Register in person at any branch of Caledon Public Library or online at www.thechinapath.com
