March is a busy month all over, including at Caledon Seniors' Centre Welcome to March, spring, Easter, St. David and St. Patrick, our sixth annual Junior Talent night, a host of activities and daylight time. What better place than at our Caledon Active Senior Centre! Every effort is made by President Monica Smith, our Board of Directors and Director Fred Ewart, our program and activities chairman, to ensure that you and our centre activities compliment each other. Your participation and enjoyment is our happiness indicator. All activities are constantly reviewed to ensure they meet yours and our needs. "Welcome to all adults to come and join us in all our good times," our Activity Program Director Ewart said. "Every day there are different activities. Do you play card games or bingo or table tennis or shuffleboard? Would you enjoy working with a craft or exercise group? How about learning how to paint with oils in our art class? What about carpet bowling or joining our poker playing gang? Come and enjoy yourself with new friends. You will be warmly welcomed. Become a member of our centre for only $15 per year. Special events are planned for every month. The 'big date' coming up is Friday, April 4th. Our annual Spring Fling, dinner, dance to the sentimental Gentlemen and big raffle draw. Raffle tickets are now on sale. Many great prizes, starting with a first prize of $1,000 cash, will be drawn on that wonderful evening. To each a corsage of leeks, shamrocks, daffodils and violets. Our aquamarine two Saint month of March has arrived. Daylight time and spring arrives. Enjoy! March 6 - Thursday - Trip to Sanderson Centre for the Ed Sullivan Tribute, a Broadway show not to be missed. Ed's show was tops! The luxury coach leaves the centre at 9:30 a.m. and will be back at 6:30 p.m. The day includes a buffet lunch at Best Western and the show. The cost is $86 per person. March 7 - Friday - Duplicate bridge, contract bridge and euchre at 7 p.m. (every Friday). All welcome. Contact the centre for details. March 9 - Sunday - Daylight time begins. Spring forward. Note the Egan room floor refinish week. March 16 - Palm Sunday - Bunnies say, "Wave 'em!" no hitting! March 17 - Monday - St. Patrick's Day. "Thems that are and thems that wish they were!" Come out to our noon lunch and see who's what? March 18 - Tuesday - St. Patrick's dinner at 5 p.m. and the sixth. annual Junior Talent Night, featuring Caledon stars of tomorrow. Shamrocks abound and "wee folk too." A grand Family night. March 19 - Wednesday - Every Wednesday, bid euchre play and learn, starting at 9:30 a.m. March 20 - Thursday - Trip to Casino Rama. Luxury coach leaves the centre at 9 a.m. and return 5 p.m. The cost is $8 per person. Celebrate the first day of spring. March 20 - Third Thursday- PROBUS meet and greet from 9:30 to 10 a.m. The speaker will be William (Bill) Wilson, talking on the topic of Our Humber Heritage Trail. Note: A week later. Egan room floor refinish. March 21 - Good Friday - Centre closed. Enjoy. March 23 - Easter Sunday - Our bunnies say "Happy Easter" and an egg or two to you! March 24 - Easter Monday- Enjoy! Centre is open. March 26 - Wednesday - Noon, pot-luck luncheon. Table Variety or Pay the Pot. At 1 p.m., there will be bingo and Club Italiano. All regular scheduled activities are available for your enjoyment. Future highlights April 4 - Friday - Gala Spring Fling dinner, dance and monster raffle draw! Get your draw tickets now for thousands of dollars in prizes! The first ticket drawn will be for $1,000 cash . April 21 to 26 - National Volunteer Week. Celebrate at the centre! April 25 - Friday - Trip to Woodbine Racetrack. Bus, lunch and track, with the cost at $47 per person, all inclusive. Your chance to win, place and show! April 27 - Sunday - Our annual 2008 centre meeting at 2 p.m. All members are requested to attend. Accomplishments, status and plans will be discussed, along with short and long range reports. Voting and confirmation of the president and board of directors. Let your voice be heard! Refreshments too. May 9 - Friday - Occupations Galore. The Caledon Senior Centre Players presents their fifth production. Come join our cheery Caledon Company. A cup of cheer waits.
