Two hot topics at Jobs Caledon Coordinating events for the Canadian Olympic Committee and a career in the Canadian Forces - These are two very different topics available at one location, your local employment resource centre, Jobs Caledon. This coming Tuesday (Feb. 26), from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Rebecca Lerner, coordinator of events for the Canadian Olympic Committee, will be sharing her career journey in event planning. Graduating with a honours degree in social sciences, Lerner has 10 years experience in the field with two years working with the Olympics. Hear her stories of travelling to Italy with the Canadian Olympic Team and how she created a "home away from home" for the athletes and their families. She will also share tips on how to become involved and advance a career in event planning. Presenting a different type of adventure, Sergeant Bill Kowalchuk will be talking about the various opportunities available through the Canadian Forces next Friday (Feb. 29), from 1 to 2:30 p.m. With the starting pay rate of $30,000, subsidized college and university programs, and more than 100 different full and part-time careers in the navy, army and air force, the Forces may be a job to consider. Serving the country for more than 20 years, Kowalchuk will explain the eligibility and additional perks. Book your seat for one or both of these free presentations, by calling Jobs Caledon today at (905) 951-2300 or (905) 584- 9460, ext. 216.
