Caledon Seniors' Centre is going to be a very busy place in February, and even busier after that Valentines all, Violets, primroses, peach blossoms and amethysts all spell February. It is the shortest month of our year, with many special days. Groundhog, Shrove Tuesday, St. Valentine's Day, Girl Guides and Scouts. Our nine "Dancing Muses" make our Centre the 2008 place to be. January gave us a great start to 2008, with all winter schedule activities in full swing. Each month will feature a selected activity to highlight with a Friday Game Competition.This month we feature Bid Euchre. Contact the Centre at (905) 951-6114 for all the details on upcoming competitions and Centre happenings. Centre Manager Beverley Nurden and our staff of dedicated "Dancing Muses" and "Queens," and yes, "Kings" too, of all "Hearts" have a warm welcome and all the details for you. The $15 annual memberships are now due. Join us now to make 2008 your winner year. Be our Valentine. Our Caledon Senior Centre members are yours! February highlights Feb. 2, Saturday, Groundhog Day. Give us a shadow Willie! Feb. 5, Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Lunch at noon. The cost will be $7 for members and $10 for guests. Join us. Feb. 6, Ash Wednesday, will see the trip to Dirty Dancing, which is sold out. At noon, there will be lunch, followed at 1 p.m. by bingo and Club Italiano. Bon Anno! Feb. 8, Friday games. It starts at 9:30 a.m. with cribbage, bridge, your choice. Lunch will be at noon, and at 7 p.m., there will be bridge and bid euchre. Feb. 14, Thursday is Valentines Day. All welcome. Be our Valentine! PROBUS is at 9:30 a.m. with meet and greet. At 10 a.m., speaker David Shoalts, a Bolton resident, author and Globe and Mail "Go Leafs Go!" sport columnist will address us. Also, 2008 dues are due! Membership is $30 per year. Feb. 21, Thursday, at noon, instead of a February trip, enjoy a four-star delicious luncheon and entertainment. there will be door prizes, sing-a-long and a grand buffet lunch. You name it, we'll have it. The cost will be $20 for members, and $25 for guests. Feb. 22, Friday, Girl Guide and Boy Scout Day. A "good deed" Day in honour of Lord Baden Powell. It will also be games day! Your choice, with lunch at noon. Feb. 24, Sunday, Toronto Humane Society celebrates 121 years. "Dogs think they are human, cats think they are God." Feb. 27, Wednesday, at noon, there will be a potluck lunch. Feed the pot or pay. Feb. 29. Friday games day at 9:30 a.m., with a bid euchre tournament. Winners all, with a delicious lunch at noon. Note that all regular scheduled activities in full swing. Future events March 6, Thursday is the trip to Sanderson Centre for a Tribute to Ed Sullivan. It will be "A really big shewwww." There will be a luxury coach, lunch and show at the Best Western. The coach leaves Centre at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 6:30p.m. The cost is $86 per person. March 18, Tuesday, is our sixth annual Junior Talent Night- Stars of Tomorrow. It will feature a delicious dinner and fantastic junior talent. All participants 16 and under are welcome to register. This is a Bolton highlight. Make it a family night! March 20, Thursday is the first day of spring, and will feature a trip to Casino Rama, complete with a luxury coach, which will leave the Centre at 9a.m., returning at 5 p.m. The cost is $8 per person. April 4, Friday, is the Grand Spring Fling, with dinner a la Henri, and dancing to the Bolton Sentimental Gentlemen and our annual fund-raising raffle. There will be 18 major prizes, all high-ticket items. The first ticket picked wins $1,000. Tickets are $2 each, or three for $5. Buy a book of 12 for $20. This is our major fund-raiser. so we are all winners! April 25, Friday, will see a trip to Woodbine races. Tickets will be available Feb. 4.
