Oliver's wants your pennies to help animals
By Jon Yaneff

Lynn Oliver, owner of Oliver's Pet Grooming and Day Care, is seen here with Murphy, day care co-ordinator Maxine Corby is with Dutchess and junior groomer Shannon Ferraz is seen with Maggie. Oliver's will be accepting pennies in support of the Caledon Animal Shelter.
Have you ever found you had too many pennies in your pockets?

Maybe the Caledon Animal Shelter can take care of that problem.

Oliver's Pet Grooming and Day Care in Bolton is accepting pennies, which will be donated to the animal shelter to help cover veterinary costs for local neglected, abused and injured stray dogs and cats.

Lynn Oliver, owner/operator of Oliver's, said she thought of the idea because pennies are one thing most people don't want and just let pile up.

"I was buying coffee and had a whole lot of pennies leftover," she said. "So I thought, every dog I've ever owned has been adopted from an animal shelter and sometimes all you need is a little extra patience with animals from there and as a result they turn out better than animals from a pet store. I adopted a dog and he's really great, so my devotion is to help animals find their forever home."

Her goal is to raise about 100 pounds of pennies.

"People just have to bring in their pennies in rolls, bags or jars and we will do all the dirty work, such as roll it, count it and send it to the animal shelter," she remarked.
