Stranded motorist struck by two vehicles

Caledon OPP are seeking the assistance of the public as they investigate a personal injury accident on Heart Lake Road early Friday morning.

Police said their initial investigating indicated Mary Jensen of Brampton was driving north on Heart Lake, north of Mayfield Road at around 5:10 or 5:15 a.m. Her car apparently hit a snowdrift and spun out, ending up facing south and lodged in a snow bank. A second northbound vehicle came upon the scene and Jensen got out to seek help. while talking to the driver of that vehicle, she was apparently struck by a southbound pick-up truck.

She was knocked to the ground, and the driver of a second pick-up tried to stop, but slid on the road and struck jensen as well.

She was taken to Brampton Civic Hospital with injuries police said were serious, but not life-threatening.

The driver of the first pick-up did not stop at the scene and police want to speak to that person. They added the driver might not be aware anyone had been struck. The vehicle is a light coloured GMC pick-up with either four doors or a king cab. It is possible there may be damage to the left front fender.

Any witnesses or persons with any information that may assist in locating this vehicle and driver are asked to contact Constable William Prodger at (905) 857-3304 or through the OPP Communications Center at 1-888-310-1122.
