"Given climate change and the tremendous development pressures in the Credit River Watershed and Region of Peel will be facing over the next several years, it is important, in maintaining a healthy environment for all, that the existence of natural areas be known and their functions understood," commented Brampton West- Mississauga MPP Vic Dhillon.

Efforts were under way among some local parents, with the support of the Town of Caledon, to launch a girls' hockey program in town this fall.

At the end of the previous hockey season, Tom Cowan, past-president of Town of Caledon Minor Hockey Association, and Bob Symons were at the Orangeville arena watching the final playoffs and celebrations of the Orangeville Tigers Girls Hockey Association, that their daughters play in.

Both had wondered why there was no girls' hockey in Caledon and they started to put the puck in motion to rectify that.
