Peel Region receives $67 million from province for infrastructure
Caledon's share is $2.129 million
      Peel Region will receive $67,043,893 from the province to help pay for infrastructure priorities. The funding is part of a $1.1 billion investment in municipal infrastructure announced last week by Premier Dalton McGuinty at the annual conference of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).

Married couple celebrated 60 years
      Bill and Millie Wilkinson say they remember their wedding like it was yesterday, rather than 60 years ago. The couple married on Aug. 9, 1948 at Inglewood United Church. Mrs. Wilkinson was born and raised on Kennedy Road north of King and her husband has lived his whole life in Cheltenham.

Bolton resident challenges Caledon's greenest community title
      Piotr Derus wants Caledon officials to legalize hybrid electric cars. Lately, Derus, 22, has been meeting with the general public and municipal officials and hasn't taken no for answer. He still awaits their decision whether hybrid cars will be appropriate for a place like Caledon, which is known as the Greenest Town in Ontario.

Caledon OPP were busy on the roads over holiday weekend
      Traffic Caledon OPP officers responded to 18 motor vehicle collisions during the seven days ending Monday. They also charged 14 motorists under the Highway Traffic Act for driving in excess of 50 km-h over the posted speed limit.

GOODBYE SERGEANT WOOLLEY
     OPP Sergeant Cam Woolley, who became popular for his traffic reports, including some of the unusual antics police discovered motorists doing on holiday weekends in the summer, has retired as the OPP Highway Safety Division Media Coordinator. It took effect over the weekend. His next career step is with CTV / CP24 as their "traffic and safety expert," covering breaking traffic news, while broadcasting about general issues involving safety. "I always wanted to end my OPP career on a high-note, and with a 30 per cent YTD (year to date) reduction in fatal MVCs (motor vehicle collisions), this is the 'right' time," he stated.
