Let's all cheer Canada's Olympians, as they compete in Beijing and Hong Kong

      There would be few, if any of us, who at some idle moment have not daydreamed of representing our country in the Olympic Games. Well that's what thousands of athletes are going to be doing, starting Friday, as the summer Olympics in Beijing officially start.

The batman of old was better
      Many, many people in this part of the world, including David Anderson, our new young reporter with this group of community newspapers, were extremely excited over the recent release of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. And while I did not share that excitement myself (I suspect age had something to do with it), I did note the film drew record attention and attendance.
