DiCarlo represents a natural beauty, which might make her a winner

CARRIER OF THE MONTH
     Emily Stillwell, 17, is the latest Caledon Citizen Carrier of the month. She has been delivering the paper since October 2001, carrying on a family tradition started by her siblings. She currently carries more than 100 copies of the paper per week. For her efforts, she has been presented with a family pass from Skyview Bowling Lanes in Bolton.

Jack and Lenore Gibson mark 50 years of spending life together
      There was a very festive mood around the Orange Hall in Palgrave Saturday as friends and family gathered to help Jack and Lenore Gibson celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were wed july 19, 1958 at Sandhill United Church, and Mrs. Gibson recalled they did not have the same heat that day as they had Saturday.

Calling all WHS alumni
      Woodbridge High School / Woodbridge College is celebrating its 50th anniversary in September. All alumni are invited to a special reunion the weekend of Sept. 19 and 20. The weekend will include a warm-up event at Al Palladini Community Centre, an open house at the school and a dance with a band under the big top at the Woodbridge Fairgrounds.

Heat waves are hard on tires, and even drivers
      As a mid-summer heat wave descends upon southern Ontario, drivers should ensure that they have adequately prepared their vehicles, and themselves, according to Ontario Provincial Police. There are more tire problems in hot weather than any other time of year. Police report the main cause of catastrophic tire failure is excessive heat.

FIREFIGHTERS SUPPORTED FIGHT AGAINST MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY
     Members of the Bolton Fire Hall held a community car wash last month, and they presented a cheque last Wednesday to Jim Jackson of Muscular Dystrophy Canada and MD Canada representative Simon Lemieux of Brampton. The presentation was made outside the Bolton Canadian Tire store, where the car wash was held. On hand for the presentation was Deputy Chief Tony Lippers; Captain Darryl Bailey; Firefighter Mario Franco; Gillian Boyd of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services; Firefighter Don Rea; Training Officer Colin Hanna; Angela Boniface, duty manager at Canadian Tire; Firefighter Kevin Hunt; Councillor Richard Whitehead; and Firefighter Darryl Thompson. The cheque was for $2,062. Organizers also expressed appreciation for the assistance offered by New Dimensions Renovations and Repairs, and The Plumbing Guy.
