After a very traditional Canadian winter, the Caledon Community Singers are definitely ready for spring. What better way to celebrate spring than with a lively assortment of songs? Happily, the seasonal concert entitled Singing into Spring is coming up April 11. More ... The Naked Vine, Winemaking and Giftware, are supporting a group of Caledon ladies, who are walking in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer (www.endcancer.ca). They call themselves the Rambling Roses and this is the sixth-year they have walked in the event as a group. This year the walk is in Calgary July 26 and 27 and each lady needs to raise $2,000 to participate. More ... More ... Caledon OPP is continuing its investigation after Mayfield Secondary School had to be locked down Monday. Police were called to the school, at Bramalea and Mayfield Roads, in response to a report of a possible weapon having been brought to the school. More ... An old, abandoned farmhouse on Kennedy Road, just north of Mayfield Road, was destroyed by fire Saturday evening. Caledon Fire and Emergency Services reported they received the call at about 7:13 p.m., and crews from the station in Snelgrove responded. At approximately 12:35 a.m. March 28, Caledon OPP officers responded to a theft in progress involving tractor-trailer units at a business on Healey Road in Bolton. Police arrived to find three tractor-trailer units running and one tractor that appeared to have been used to ram a vehicle that had been left parked across the yard entrance as a security measure. More ... Students at St. John the Baptist School in Bolton participated in singing the national anthem at a recent Brampton Battalion game.
