Tottenham man killed in Palgrave crash

Ahead-on collision last Tuesday on Regional Road 50 at Palgrave claimed the life of a 25-year-old man from Tottenham.

Caledon OPP reports they responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the scene north of Zimmerman Drive. The initial investigation indicated that a southbound dump truck hauling a secondary trailer known as a "pup" collided with a northbound pick-up truck in the northbound lane. A second northbound SUV was also damaged as the driver unsuccessfully attempted to avoid the collision.

The driver of the pick-up, 25 year-old Michael Worrod of Tottenham, died in the incident.

A driver of a second motor vehicle, 30 year-old On Truong of Mississauga, was treated for minor injuries and released from Headwaters hospital in Orangeville.

The driver of the dump truck was also transported to Headwaters for observation and was later released.

Technical traffic collision investigators as well as officers from the Caledon Detachment of the OPP continue their investigation.
