Caledon minor bantam selects earn sixth win The Caledon Blackhawks minor bantam selects engaged the Brampton Rockets in inter-city play Dec. 1, coming away with a 3-2 victory. Both teams came to play and engaged in up and down hockey, creating chances at both ends of the rink. The Blackhawks utilized their short passing game to pepper the Rocket net with shots all afternoon. Rocket forwards responded by racing up ice on every opportunity to test Blackhawks' goaltending duo of Simon Serpe and Drew Eden. Great goaltending by both teams kept the outcome in question until the final buzzer of this hotly contested game. The result was Caledon's sixth win of the season. Strong forechecking by Mateo Palombi and Daniel Cafagna disrupted many offensive efforts by the Rockets. Team defence throughout the third period denied all Rocket efforts to tie the game. Goal scorers for Caledon were Cafagna, Palombi and Lucus Trevisan, with assists being notched by Cafagna, Trevor Moore, Trevisan and Iain Wong. All fans left this game exhausted from the emotional roller coaster ride of great plays, near misses and seesaw scoring of both teams. |
