Hawks topple Oakville The Hawks hosted Milton at Caledon East arena Nov. 12. The Hawks were put in flight by Chris Scrivo who scored unassisted at 8:22. This game remained close into the second largely due to the sharp Milton keeper. At 5:47 of the second frame Brandon Richard potted the second goal with the help from Alex Boughen and Cameron Miller. In the third the Hawks shifted gears and racked up five unanswered goals. First to strike was Ryan Briggs from David Rothfuchs. Then it was Ryan Rausch with assist to Chris Scrivo. Next to light the lamp was Connor Longlade Oswald assisted by Richard and Joseph DiMarco. With 6:14 remaining Ryan Rausch scored his second of the game off the feed from Richard. Finally with just under two minutes left, David Rothfuchs found pay dirt with help from Captain Miller. Taylor Elkins was sharp between the pipes registering the shutout. Hawks prevailed 7-0. The following evening the boys travelled to Oakville who were still smarting from the 7- 0 loss on home ice to this team a week ago. Caledon gave up an early goal short handed in an otherwise even first period. In the second Oakville notched two more goals in the first four minutes and things were not looking good for the Caledon birds. However, a couple of very physical shifts led by Miller and Rothfuchs seemed to turn the tide and Rausch found the net at 11:35 assisted by Chris Scrivo. Four minutes later the red hot Rausch again had the magic unassisted to bring the score to within one. In the third Oakville enjoyed the shot advantage but Nathan Cole was a monster in the goal refusing to allow another Oakville goal. With only 5:15 remaining Oswald tied the game with assistance from Alex Boughen. The Hawks recorded a 3-3 tie that felt a lot like a road victory. Well done boys! |
