Roth Hawks win at home

November 26 will be remembered as a snowy evening and a night that Roth Diamond Tools bantam Hawks played well at home. The visitors from Flamborough had a tough drive and things did not get better when the puck dropped.

Brandon Richard took the draw and raced into the opponents' zone drilling the puck home at the eight-second mark. The Hawks seemed to think the game was over and despite dominating the action they fiddled with the puck until Flamborough scored the equalizer at 5:20. This was corrected at 3:43 when Ryan Rausch fed the puck to David Rothfuchs who bulled his way down the left wing and fired a low hard shot in at a bad angle to regain the Hawk advantage.

In the second Fernando Zambito was welcomed back from a long injury layoff with a fine power play goal assisted by Richard and Alex Boughen. As the second wound down Daniel Butts fed a streaking Connor Longlade Oswald who in turn delivered the perfect pass to Cam Miller alone in front for the nice deke.

Early in the third it was Richard again striking unassisted with a knuckler in the top corner during a penalty kill. Late in the third the Hawks found themselves down two men again killing penalties. Daniel Butts jumped on a loose puck and shoveled it to Connor Longlade Oswald who found Miller. The wiley captain took off down the right side and pulled across the net depositing a highlight reel goal. This was capped off by an unassisted bullet from Richard at 3:19 to complete his hat trick and count the final 7-1. Nathan Cole was solid in the cage stopping 19 shots and earning another victory.
