Candy collected at PJP II School The Youth Ambassadors for Christ at Pope John Paul II School in Bolton, have been busy sharing the virtue of empathy by encouraging students to put themselves in others' shoes and consider their feelings. The Virtues program is part of the Safe Schools/Anti-Bullying program for the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board. The ambassadors have also been collecting Halloween candy for an organization called Canadian Food for Children founded by Dr. Andrew Simone and his wife Joan. The organization's primary purpose is to alleviate hunger in children around the world. Parents and staff were overwhelmed to see the students' generosity in donating part of their halloween candy, chocolate and potato chips. They truly understood the virtue of empathy and wanted less fortunate children enjoy some candy as well. |
