Fine art and craft sale at Peel complex

Made By Hand, the annual fine art and craft sale, returns to the Peel Heritage Complex in time for the holiday shopping season. More than 30 local artisans will showcase their unique works in the Whitney Community Gallery to Dec. 31.

Made By Hand features contemporary jewelry, handmade cards, hooked rugs, trendy hand-knit scarves and shawls, pottery, yoga mat bags, stained glass, fine art paintings, photographs and many more original pieces. Add the PHC to the list of stores you visit during the holiday shopping season.

Caledon author Dale O'Hara will attend the Made by Hand opening reception to sign copies of her new book, Acres Under Glass. Acres Under Glass chronicles the fascinating story of the Dale estate and its influence on the development of Brampton as "The Flower Town of Canada." Acres Under Glass will be available for purchase at the opening reception. Proceeds from the book will be donated to the Brampton Arts Council Literary Arts Endowment Fund.

Natalie Colecchia of Bolton is an expert at creating scrapbooks and memorabilia. With more than two years of experience, Natalie also works as a consultant, hosting scrapbook and greeting card workshops.

Natalie will offer handmade cards, glass ornaments filled with paper rolls, Tic Tac candy holders and altered paint cans filled with dry floral arrangements.

There is no admission fee for Made by Hand, however, general admission will be charged for visitors wishing to enter the Art Gallery, Museum or Archives. For more information about Made by Hand or the PHC, visit www.peelheritagecomplex. org.
