Blackhawks earn a tie against division leaders The Caledon Blackhawks minor atom selects travelled to Brampton Nov. 10 to face the first-place Brampton Snipers at the Terry Miller Arena. They made the trip with a set purpose, to show they can play with anyone in the league. They left with their point made. The Blackhawks started strong with Hudson James having an early scoring chance, only to be turned away by the Snipers. The Snipers came right back with a chance of their own and used it to draw first blood, scoring two and a half minutes into the game. That was it for the Snipers' scoring as the combined efforts of Blackhawks goaltending duel of Steven Nelson and Russ McCanna and the defensive corps kept the Snipers at bay for the rest of the game. The Blackhawks continued the offensive push with Steve Luongo and Chris Hunter teaming up and having opportunity but the period end with the Blackhawks down 1-0. In the second period the Blackhawks had a two-man advantage for a minute and 40 seconds during which Christopher Cola and Ethan Clarke had opportunities to score but could not put the puck past the Snipers goaltender. The Blackhawks entered the third period in an alltoo familiar position, trailing the opposition, but this time was different. They had played a hard fought game and were playing with greater confidence. It took until the mid-point of the third before Luongo scored, from Hunter, tying the game at one. Not being satisfied with a tie, the Blackhawks continued to press but were unable to pot the winner. The Snipers made a late attempt to win the game only to be stoned by McCanna. The game ended with the Blackhawks tying the first place Snipers 1-1. Russ McCanna was the coaches' pick for the game.
