Holland named to Ontario team

Caledon native Peter Holland, playing with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, was recently named to Ontario's Under-17 team for the 2008 World Hockey Challenge in London, Ontario.

The six-foot-one-inch centre had two goals and three assists for five points after 19 games with the Storm.

This year's tournament will take place from Dec. 29, 2007, to Jan. 4, 2008. This international event features five regional teams competing from across Canada and five international teams from Finland, Germany, Russia, Slovakia and the United States. Team Ontario will play in a conference against Team Pacific, Quebec, Finland and Slovakia.

Team Ontario will get things under way on Dec. 28 with an exhibition game against Team Russia and will play their first game of the round-robin series against Team Pacific on Dec. 29. The bronze and gold medal games will be held Jan. 4.
