High scores for atom AAs in Tri-County action

The Tri-Star Landscaping/Just in Time atom AA Hawks participated in lots of high scoring action over the past couple of weeks.

After losing to top team Oakville by a score of 6-0 the Hawks had a better result against Orangeville at home ice Nov. 2.

There was no scoring until the second period when newlyappointed defenceman Jordan Bokla sprang loose and sunk an unassisted shorthanded Caledon goal. Orangeville came right back with one of their own and it looked like the opposing team might take this game when they scored another two in a row in the third. The Hawks suddenly got tough, fighting back with Christian Hauck first hitting the mesh, assisted by Jesse Fir; and then Scott Dominey scored, set up by Kyle Graham and Nando Sirianni. The pesky Orangeville team pulled ahead once more but Sean Nottle managed the tying Caledon goal, helped out by Graham and Justin Donatelli, to leave this one at 4-4.

In St. Catharines two days later, Nando Sirianni started the Caledon scoring from a Tyler Whitten pass out from behind the net. In the second, Sirianni did it again with a nifty deke and accurate shot, assists going to blue liners Jordan Kreller and Donatelli. Conner Morro then got on the score sheet with help from Whitten and Sirianni. On a power play St. Catharines scored their only goal in the third. Dominey netted two in the third, both assisted by Morro. Nottle also fired the puck past the opposing goaltender, with assists going to Dominey and Whitten. Accurate passing, heads-up team play and much needed "Hawk speed" by all players resulted in this 6-1 victory.

An out of town Wednesday night game in Orangeville saw the Hawks suffering a a 10-1 defeat.

Although the game was still in reach after the second period, everything went wrong after that and the Flyers enjoyed the third period much more than the Hawks.

On a hockey Saturday night back at home Nov. 10, the atom AAs had their own lop-sided 12-2 win against the visiting St. Catharines Falcons.

Christian Hauck tallied up 5 points with 2 goals and 3 assists. Morro and Dominey both had four-goal performances, and singles went to Curro and Nottle, assisted by Jordan Bokla. Lukas Richardson was awarded 4 assists and Fir helped out with 3. Kreller set up the last Caledon goal.
