House fire in Bolton

A Bolton house fire has caused an estimated $80,000 in damages.

Tuesday, Nov. 20 at approximately 2:46 pm. Caledon Fire & Emergency Services responded to a report of a house fire received from a 911 call at a house at 344 Kingsview Dr.

The caller reported seeing smoke coming from the second floor of the home when she returned from a school trip. Upon arrival, fire crews found smoke and flames showing from a second-floor bedroom of the two-storey house. Due to the advanced stage of the fire additional apparatus and firefighters were required.

According to fire chief Brad Bigrigg, a primary and secondary search was completed and it was confirmed that all residents were accounted for. The fire spread through a portion of the second floor causing significant damage. Caledon firefighters worked for approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

They were on scene for approximately two hours and there were no injuries.

The cause is under Investigation by Caledon Fire & Emergency Services. The fire chief said it may have been cause by a lamp left laying on a bed.

Damage is pegged at $80,000.

Agencies responding included Bolton, Caledon East, Palgrave and Snelgrove fire stations, Caledon OPP, Peel EMS.
