Traffic Caledon OPP officers responded to 22 property damage and six personal injury collisions during the week ending Nov. 19. Five drivers were charged Under Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (street racing). They included a 31- year-old Caledon male stopped at Queen Street and Mill Street Nov. 17. Alcohol & Driving Tuesday, Nov. 13, a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence on Ellwood Drive West resulted in charges for the driver. Alexander Brown, 38, of Caledon, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood. He will appear in court Dec. 20. Tuesday, Nov. 13, a call from another motorist resulted in a traffic stop on King Street near Mississauga Road. The driver, 49-yearold William Day of Georgetown was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood, Drive Disqualified, Dangerous Operation and Drive Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor. He will appear in court Dec. 20. Thursday, Nov. 15, a RIDE spot check set up at Highway 10 and Charleston Sideroad resulted in an arrest. Miklos Gersenyi, 43, of Orangeville, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood. Court date was set for Jan. 3. Saturday, Nov. 17, 23- year-old Robert Clare of Caledon was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood following a police investigation of a disturb the peace complaint. Court date is set for Jan. 3. Saturday, Nov. 17, a Caledon officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed northbound on Queen Street near King Street in Bolton. He initiated a traffic stop at Queen Street and Mill Street. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood, Race a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. The driver, 31-year-old Bradley Merkley of Caledon, also had his vehicle impounded for seven days for the Stunt Driving/Racing offence. He will appear in court for all charges Dec. 20. Sunday, Nov. 18, police received a call reporting a dangerous driver southbound on Highway 10. A vehicle stop was conducted at Highway 10 and Mayfield Road and the driver arrested. George Parker, 42, of Georgetown, was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Provide Breath Sample, Drive with Open Container of Liquor and Fail to Surrender Licence. He will appear in court Dec. 20. Break & Enter Wednesday, Nov. 14, a front door of a home on Bel Air Drive in Bolton was kicked open during the afternoon hours. A resident was at home at the time and the suspect left in a vehicle after damaging the front door. Wednesday, Nov. 14, a home on Boston Mills Road was entered through a bedroom window during daytime hours. Money was reported missing. Mischief Thursday, Nov. 15, a vehicle was damaged while left parked overnight on a driveway of a Kingsview Drive residence in Bolton. The driver's side mirror was broken off, tires were punctured and an entire side of the vehicle was scratched. Sunday, Nov. 18, reports were made to police of a red pickup truck driving in circles on a ball field of a Palgrave area park on Mount Hope Road. Extensive damage was caused to the park. Stolen and Recovered Vehicles During the daytime hours Tuesday, Nov. 13, a car was stolen from the driveway of a Coachwood Manor Court residence in Bolton. A truck that had been stolen from the Woodbridge area was located abandoned on Lawren Harris Crescent in Bolton Nov. 15. The ignition had been punched and a plough and harness that had been attached to the truck was stolen. A van was located abandoned Thursday, Nov. 15, near Heart Lake Road and Mayfield Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Brampton area earlier the same day. The ignition was punched. Sometime between Friday and Sunday, Nov. 18, a van was stolen from the driveway of a Foundry Street residence in Bolton, while the family was away for the weekend. Theft A wallet was reported stolen Monday, Nov. 12, from a van parked on Cardwell Street in Alton sometime overnight. A vehicle was entered overnight while parked at a Brookstone Court residence. Items stolen from the vehicle include gym clothes and shoes and a MP3 player. A second vehicle at a different home on Brookstone Court was also entered. Missing from that vehicle are two wallets and two laptop bags. Two parked vehicles on Kennedy Road were entered during the night, Friday, Nov. 16. Loose change is missing. Sometime overnight Nov. 15, a window of a car parked at a Royal Valley Drive in Mayfield was smashed to allow access to a flashlight and gloves. A van also parked on Royal Valley at another residence was also entered and two headsets and a converter were stolen. Two vehicles parked on a Castlederg Sideroad property were entered during the night hours, Nov. 17. ADVD player, gym bag and power tools were reported as stolen. Secure your vehicle overnight.
