CACY's 50th a wonderful day
Thank you Caledon Citizen for your front-page notice reminding the community to celebrate with CACY Nov. 3.

It was an enjoyable day for the adults and fun for the kids. Special thanks to the guitarist Heather Morand Clark of Palgrave for her soothing music, to Pat Oliver who put together a fantastic CACY history booth, and to Suzanne Bonus for organizing the summer artwork display and supervising kids on the potter's wheel.

Other instructors like Lyn Westfall, MaryLou Hurley, Meade Helman, Sandi Nemenyi and Marilyn Boyle-Taylor also did a wonderful job of entertaining us with demonstrations and supervising kids' activities. Thanks also to CACY members for their help, to the exhibitors selling their one-of-akind products, and to our kind friends at Gourmandissimo who provided their delicious food and coffee.

We also had a raffle of items donated by the exhibitors (both past and present) to help raise some money to support CACY's summer arts and crafts programs. The draw was as follows:

Pat Britnell of Mono Mills, winner of Jim Lorriman's Spruce Burl Bowl; Cheryl Carruthers of Caledon, winner of Rootham's Sweet Preserves; Heather Clark of Brampton, winner of Rootham's Savoury Preserves; Ruthe Whitehead of Caledon East, winner of the Plantation Farm Pottery; Dorothy Gardiner of Caledon East, winner of Mary Anne Holmes' Smocked Dress; Sue Hesjedahl of Caledon East, winner of Metalscape tabletop Christmas Tree.

We look forward to an inspiring summer program next year!
