Lightning peewees win 6-2 The shooting wasn't so sharp for the Brampton Sharpshooters Nov. 10 at Inglewood arena. The 6-2 win went to Caledon Lightning peewee - a well deserved result. Caledon took three goals in the first period in quick succession, starting just two minutes into the game. The goals were scored by Mitchell Lovell, Dylan Yandeau and Tyler Tiessen. Christian Brugger, Patrick Bourne assisted, with Hayden Gorman assisting on two of the goals. The first period closed at 3-1 to Caledon after Brampton scored towards the end. In the second period goals were scored by Caledon's Luke McAree and Kyle Milik assisted by Hayden Gorman and Christian Brugger. The team passes started to show improvement and the action was chippy and hard-hitting. At one point it was five-on-three with two Brampton players in the penalty box. The second period closed at 5-1 to Caledon. Both goalies worked hard with many tries on net and Brampton scored again two minutes before the close of play. In the final moments, just 29 seconds before the buzzer, Caledon's Kristian Balinov assisted Milik with his second goal of the game. Assistant coach Derek Tiessen said: "Caledon hustled well, and kept it clean considering it was such a hard-hitting game. "I was pleased to see Milik starting to shine, plus McAree and Yandeau getting goals, too. As always our two goalies Ryan Woodworth and Paul Moratti stepped it up and the whole team held it together to achieve the 6-2 win. |
